Parent Resources:

At Kids & Cribs, we understand the challenges many of our families face throughout the various stages of the life cycle. To support and encourage our families to meet and overcome these life challenges, we have provided a list of available community resources. We encourage our families to reach out to these agencies directly to seek assistance in the areas of addiction, domestic violence, finances, shelter, food, employment, mental health, nutrition, and developmental disabilities.

  • Addiction

    Transitions, Inc. believes that addiction is a disease and treats Substance Use Disorders from the disease model. Treatment is individualized to meet the needs of the consumer best. Treatment is provided through trauma-informed, person-centered, and recovery-focused services.

  • Developmental Disabilities

    First Steps is a statewide early intervention system that provides services to children with developmental disabilities or a particular medical condition known to cause a developmental delay from birth to age three and their families. First Steps offers comprehensive services through a network of early intervention providers and service disciplines and is administered by the Department for Public Health in the Cabinet for Health and Family Services. Eligibility for services is determined through a process of child and family assessment.

  • Domestic Violence

    The Kentucky Coalition Against Domestic Violence (KCADV) provides a strong, statewide voice on behalf of survivors and their children. KCADV administers $9.5 million in state and federal funds to its 15 member programs, runs a Certification Program for all domestic violence program staff, including 30 hours of classroom instruction, and operates an Economic Empowerment Program serving survivors across the state. KCADV also advocates for domestic violence-related issues at the state and federal levels, coordinates an annual conference with the Kentucky Association of Sexual Assault Programs, and provides resources, training, and technical assistance to its member programs.

  • Employment/Training

    The Kentucky Career Center can assist you in finding job openings, screen and test you for jobs that match your skills, fund eligible on-the-job training and the customized training need, arrange space for job interviews, and in some areas, schedule interviews. If you are a veteran of the U.S. armed forces, including the Reserves and National Guard, there are services specific to you. See Veterans Express.   • Legal

    To resolve the most critical problems of low-income and other vulnerable people by providing high-quality legal assistance through direct representation, education, advice, advocacy, and coordination with other community resources.

    We can help you apply for several government assistance programs, including SNAP (formerly known as food stamps), Medicaid, and cash assistance.

    Our Benefit Call Center team, supporting Ohio and Kentucky residents, is available from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday by calling (513) 381-SNAP (7627). Calls are confidential.

    Need help with food or other services? Our Customer Connection Center offers a variety of programs and services, including food, health and hygiene products, clothing, financial and housing assistance and more.     North Key Community Care 

    Since 1966 we have provided mental health, substance use, and developmental disabilities services where they are needed most –right in our community. NorthKey staff delivers services based in research and integrated into the 8-county Northern Kentucky region.   • Women’s Counseling Services

    Mission

    To lead our community in the social change needed to end domestic violence, rape, and sexual abuse. The Women’s Crisis Center provides the following services:

    • To provide immediate access to effective crisis intervention, support, and personal attention to victims and survivors.
    • To sustain a safe and nurturing environment for adults and children traumatized by domestic violence, rape, or sexual abuse.
    • To empower victims of rape, domestic violence, or sexual abuse to gain self-esteem and self-sufficiency and to move beyond victimhood to become strong survivors.
    • To advocate for our clients' safety, civil rights, and health in political, judicial, law enforcement, and other public welfare arenas.
    • To advance society through prevention education and public awareness programs in which rape, sexual abuse, and domestic violence are no longer tolerated.
